
Irresponsible rhetoric destroys PIA's image: Islamabad High Court
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah has remarked that irresponsible rhetoric has tarnished the image of PIA.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case regarding suspension of pilot's license and appointment of DG Civil Aviation Authority. The court questioned the decisions of the Secretary Civil Aviation as DG Civil Aviation.
Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the court does not interfere in the affairs of the executive but it should be stated under which law the Secretary Aviation was given the authority of DG.
Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan informed the Islamabad High Court that the Cabinet has re-appointed the Secretary to the charge of DG. I have told the government that this is a violation of the law. DG has decided to appoint Civil Aviation Authority.
The Secretary Aviation told the court that the number of fake licensed pilots is 82. The licenses of 50 pilots have been revoked. The licenses of 32 pilots are doubtful.
In response to a query from the court, the Secretary Civil Aviation Authority said that a fake degree of 262 pilots was stated in Parliament, on which the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court expressed anger at the federal government and remarked that it was given on a misinformation. The statement damaged the reputation of PIA, irresponsible rhetoric destroyed the image of PIA, who is responsible for damaging the reputation of the country and PIA.
The Secretary Aviation told the court that 262 fake licensed pilots had been reported by the Aviation Division, and the Attorney General admitted that the whole matter was handled in a very wrong way.
