If conditions improve, schools will reopen on January 11, Asad Omar said

 

ISLAMABAD: The National Coordinating Committee for Code 19 has endorsed all the recommendations of the Education Ministers' Meeting.

Addressing a news briefing after the NCC meeting in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that the decision to close schools was not an easy one. If precautions are taken, the schools are likely to reopen on January 11.

He said that a decision has also been taken to close restaurants with closed rooms. Stalls in open spaces will not be banned.

Asad Umran said that the second wave of Koronaki could be very dangerous. It is clear from the attitudes of the people that they do not feel the intensity of Korona. There has been a rapid increase in coronavirus over the weeks. We were informed of the gravity of the situation in the first week of October. Now the situation is that if the precautionary measures are not strictly followed, the same conditions will arise as in June this year when there was no space left in the hospitals.

He said there were currently 1,700 patients in the country's hospitals around the world who needed oxygen to breathe at some level, up from 3,300 in the days leading up to the epidemic. The only way to avoid serious situations is to take precautions.

He said that the ban on large gatherings has also been ratified by the Islamabad High Court. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during this time. The Prime Minister had convened a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee on the Corona virus situation yesterday. Today's meeting endorsed the recommendations of the NCOC and the decisions of the Education Ministers' Conference regarding the closure of educational institutions.
