ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the case of declaring Nawaz Sharif a fugitive.

A special bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani today heard appeals against Nawaz Sharif's conviction in the Avonfield and Azizia references.

The Foreign Office, while submitting the compliance report of Nawaz Sharif through advertisement, said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not appearing in the court on purpose, he is fully aware of the case pending in the court, Pakistan and abroad. And the news of his advertisement in the electronic media has reached, the advertisement of his summons at his London residence has been received through Royal Mail.

Additional Attorney General Tariq Khokhar appeared before the court and submitted a report on the release of Nawaz Sharif's advertisement. The NAB prosecutor said that the statements of the officers involved in the process of issuing the advertisement would be recorded.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the matter of declaring Nawaz Sharif a fugitive till the statements are recorded. The court remarked that it was reassuring that every effort had been made to inform Nawaz Sharif of the order.

The High Court decided to record the statements of the officers who complied with the advertisements and adjourned the case till December 2. The court said that the statements of all the officers would be recorded at the next hearing.

The High Court had summoned Nawaz Sharif through an advertisement today but he did not appear. The period for surrendering before the court expired before he was declared a fugitive.
