The Prime Minister approved the law to disqualify the perpetrators of rape

 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved in principle a law to disqualify rape offenders.

The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Federal Cabinet in which the draft rape ordinance proposed by the legal team was presented. Highlighting the ordinance, the legal team said that women's policing, fast-track cases and protection of witnesses would be a core part of the proposed law, so that affected women or children could file their complaints without fear or favor. Special care will be taken.

After the briefing, the federal cabinet approved in principle recommendations for harsher punishments for criminals, but the law did not include the death penalty.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also approved in principle the introduction of castration law for rape offenders, saying that we have to give a safe environment to our society, it is a serious matter which does not have any delay in legislation. We will legislate in a clear and transparent manner for the protection of the people, ensuring that the strictest law is enforced.

Some federal ministers have called for the death penalty to be included in the new law. According to sources, Federal Minister Faisal Wawda, Azam Swati and Noorul Haq Qadri also supported the execution. Prime Minister Imran Khan opined that initially we have to go for castration law.

Karachi Transformation Plan

In addition, the Cabinet approved the issuance of NOCs on payments made by PTV to Indian broadcasters. Federal Minister Aminul Haq raised the issue of slowness on Karachi Transformation Plan in the Cabinet meeting on which the Prime Minister directed to convene a high level meeting on Karachi Transformation Plan on Thursday.
