The computerized newscaster was produced by South Korean TV channel MBN in collaboration with Mini Brain, a local artificial intelligence (AI) company.
This virtual newscaster is a computerized replica of a real TV host, Kim Joo Ha, who not only looks like him, but also moves everything from small to large movements (such as moving a pen in a careless manner). In every way, this is an exact copy of the original newscaster. That is why it has been named "AI Kim".
The AI Kim uses Deep Fake, a state-of-the-art field of artificial intelligence, which includes fake images that look exactly like the original. A person's face can be glued to another person's face in such a way that it looks very real.
Using a ten-hour-long recording of "Kim Joo Ha", the mini-brain experts created "AI Kim" with the help of Deepfake, which first read the news on TV on November 6. When the audience found out that "AI Character" had read the news instead of the real woman in front of them, their reaction was based on uncertainty and admiration.
Later, AI Kim talked to the original Kim Joo Ha in detail about himself and how it was made.
It should be noted that "AI Kim" is by no means the first virtual newscaster in the world. Last year, the first virtual newscaster was introduced in China with the help of DeepFack technology, which surprised people.
